I love the sound of my voice, so...

It only took about eight hours to re-post a picture of my fine self. I have wasted an entire Sunday afternoon, and worked my blood pressure dangerously towards stroke level. I don't believe what I'm going through trying to re-estabish United Possums...and I keep flashing back to Robert Duval at the end of the shoot-out in "Free Range"..."and for what...more cows?"

A constant reader who holds her silence reminded me today that I started this as a fun enterprise. Having done the journalism thing, I have not been unaware of the power of the written word. As The Grateful Dead say, it's been a long, strange road. Gerry Garcia is dead, and I don't feel too good.

This was fun when it first started. I thought I was leaving an online lgacy for my daughters, so they might understand me better. I have tried to leave footprints in the past, but the impermancy of computers defeats this at every turn. A commercial enity named Google™ has destroyed the last of my efforts. Unless I find a new, painless web host, I won't be back online.

Thank you, Google™. I am a capitalist, but you have killed me. Free speech subordinates to whatever you charge by the click. My website is dead. It was fun while it lasted.

Where's my blog?

Two years of commentary down the toilet! Google™ is totally non-responsive. What is this new "beta" format, and why do I have to adjust to it? Is someone trying to sell me an Apple Mac? I have kissed every Google™ butt on the Internet. Nothing will give my old blog back. I will be taking a hike on these mooks as soon as I can find another free blogging service.

I am described as the world's most stubborn man, so I may hang around and fight to re-establish United Possums. However, I am very disheartened, and don't look forward to invading the site template to re-post all the links from the old UPI.

Constant readers with an old link can still find the last of the original UPI. The old site will not accept new posts, and I am not sure I have the patience to deal with Google™. Stay tuned; we'll see what happens.

Good night

United Possums International is dead. They have been killed by Google™. The Internet used to be a free and easy place. One could post a few hundred words, and speak one’s mind.

This option is no longer open. It’s all about pay to play, now. The formerly free Blogger™ site has become the property of Google™. Two years of social commentary were erased with a keystroke. It’s all about running banner ads and making money on a website.

Sorry, I won’t be playing along at home. I had my fun with UPI, and it was a life-saving event to speak my mind when the urge seized me. Control of Blogger™ has been seized by some money-driven cartel. The original UPI blog has been erased. I don’t have the heart to establish a new commentary, with all the links that existed. UPI is dead, and the so-called blosophere becomes a bit more prey to commercial predations. Speak up while you can, kids! It will eventually cost you. Good night, and good luck!

Last of the stinrgays...

Blogger™ has entered an unholy alliance with Google™. I fought for 14 hours to post to my old blog; I had to establish a new one, and it isn't up and running yet. Maybe there will be two United Possums International. I just wanted to put up a few words about stingrays, and I got fed a ration of some kind of internet shift.

Much cursing and chasing links may have had a result. All I wanted do do was post a few words and a picture. UPI may be here for a few more minutes. I'll see about posting a second site. I see two years of commentary down the toilet, and nothing redemptive from the Google™ people. I think I am going to bail on this blatantly commercial company. Remember when the Internet was free and easy?

I had something to say about stingrays, fast boats, and a couple hundred words that should have published to this site. I will hit the buttons, and hope for the best.
